I could very happily have swung for the driver on the first bus we caught this morning...
The bus was pretty full when we got on, so Rowan and I ended up sitting on the back row. As a result, it took us a little while to get down the front.
Just as we were approaching the doors, the person waiting on the stop got on. She had no sooner paid her fare and obtained her ticket when the bus driver closed the doors - with Rowan halfway off the bus!
I had to pull him back quickly to stop him getting squashed by the doors, and he was understandably freaked out.
I managed to glare at the driver, but I was too wrapped up in calming Rowan down to do anything more. I ended up carrying my sobbing four year old all the way to the pedestrian crossing that gets us to the park.
Thankfully he calmed down by the time we got to the Nursery, but he wasn't happy about what happened either. I just hope this doesn't turn into a trauma of some kind - he's already got this thing about the back wheels of buses....
