(no subject)
I would like to say "I win at parenting!" but I think we probably drew today.
I was this close to being late for work this morning - probably close enough to the deadline that they noted my file as being late anyway - because he was messing around so much this morning that I missed the bus from the nursery to the office.
When I collected him, he'd done something he wasn't supposed to and was being told off by the deputy nursery-leader so he's been on punishment all evening - which means no TV. Having been exposed to the wonderful aromas of lasagne at lunchtime, I'd brought some home for our tea along with some garlic bread. Rowan decided he didn't like lasagne even though he's never had it, and has eaten bolognase in the past. It was this last fact that made me stand my ground and I made him stay at the table till he ate it, despite his screams and pleading, and hid his garlic bread in the microwave. In the end he ate about half of it, which is where my almost-win comes in. But, being my son, the fight wasn't really worth it. He fussed so much I put him to bed at six pm...*sigh*
He's hard work sometimes.
