I finally had my appraisal at noon. Which just happens to be when I usually stop for lunch.
So we spent about forty minutes sat in the pub down the street, discussing my performance during the last year over glasses of cola.
Thankfully I appear to have been doing better than I thought. My now-former manager said she was pleased with the improvements she's seen over the last six months with my productivity, and how the quality of my work has always been a high standard.
Well, thank God for that.
My new team had its first team meeting at the end of my shift, so I stuck around an extra hour to attend. Then I took Rowan over the park for a few minutes, as it's been a very hot day today.
I'm debating whether to watch 'Pie In The Sky' or a couple of episodes of Sports Night this evening, since it's been taken off ABC1 except for thursday nights *mutters darkly about them replacing it with 'Rodney' of all things!*

Note to self....
May. 10th, 2006 09:35 pmDo not, under any circumstances, go and check on an otherwise quiet toddler during a thunderstorm.
He was half asleep, despite being somewhat unsettled by the severity of the storm that's raging out there right now. But the sight of me brought out the inevitable...
"Mummah! Stay wiv me! I'm scared ob the funder!"
Took a lot of coaxing that his trusty bear-companion Bobo was there to keep him safe, and remind him to play the 'counting elephants' game before he allowed me to leave the room again. After that he gave me running commentary across the hall of how many elephants he'd counted between the lightening and the thunder. But thankfully, he's now settled down again.
Can't believe how much it's thundering out there, though considering how hot it was today I guess it's not surprising. I have one of those mini Galilieo thermometers on my desk at work, with the baubles telling the temperature between 18 and 24 degrees celcius, and they were all down at the bottom all day.
Which means it was pretty hot, even with the air conditioning. Not that the UK has figured out exactly how to make air-con work, anyway.
I just hope Sym doesn't decide to freak once I've retreated to bed.
In other news, I really hate the recent change to how my 'lady pains' - a phrase that appears to be catching on amoungst the Sports Night fans on my flist - presents itself. It now takes about a week to fully arrive, rather than a week to fully disappear. Plus it's also moonlighting as an upset stomach, which is a royal pain in the ass. My pregnancy taught me the difference between stomach cramps and abdominal cramps (one a pain in the neck, the other a possible cause for concern - you pay attention) and I've had both for the last few days. Not fun.
