Mam met us at home after work this evening, so she and I could demolish my old bedroom furniture in order to take them, and my old carpet, to the public landfill. It was a bit of a nightmare, as it's pre-packed cheap scandanavian pine out of the Argos catalogue and we can't lower the backseat of Mam's car anymore.
My Dad looked after Rowan for us, and it took two trips to get everything over there. We got home at about seven, when I let Rowan watch one of his US dvds while I scrubbed the now un-vinyled bathroom floor. The underside of the water-damaged vinyl was really disgusting....
Work went pretty ok, if a little embarrassing. There was a decorate-an-egg competition being hosted near us this morning, and afterwards I accidentally caused the judge to stumble as he left for his own office. I stepped backwards to return to my own desk, and suddenly my heel connected with his foot! I hadn't realised how close to me he still was.
The embarrassing thing? He's our Chief Underwriter - one of the three most important people in the entire company....
At least he was pretty gracious about it.
I apparently missed a very uncomfortable team meeting last night, much to my relief. Our supervisor's recently come back from a two week vacation, so he's kinda looking at the team with fresh eyes right now. And there were several things he was really not impressed to notice; cherry-picking of the work, people messing around on the internet when they should be working...especially in the middle of last week, when we were struggling to cope without the India call centre due to the riots in Bangalore.
Meh, my concentration's going. Gonna be waiting in for the carpet people tomorrow, with Rowan underfoot as my mother's travelling down to Dawlish with my sister to check out her new place. Alright for some...
