The repairs to my flat have now been completed. *sighs in relief*
Workmen from the council came yesterday and today to strip the walls in my bedroom, damp treat them and then redecorate. It's the same wallpaper they put up before I moved in last summer, which is fine with me as I quite liked it.
They originally planned this to be a three day job, before I explained this was losing me vacation time. But I don't know how the hell they were gonna justify that, since they were only here a few hours yesterday and one guy wallpapered the whole room within six hours today. Granted there wasn't enough room for more than one person, with my furniture stacked up in the centre of the room.
I've also been calling my insurer to chase up the claim for my carpet and furniture - hopefully that won't take too long. I'm anticipating being back in my own room at night by Easter *fingers crossed*
I never did post about the pantomime Rowan and I went to see on Sunday. It was okay as pantos go, and I was in stitches at times. But I really couldn't stomach the overwhelming cheese and ham of it all. Sure, pantos are meant to be somewhat corny...but honestly. The girl playing Wendy - whom I'm not convinced was anywhere near as young as the boys playing Peter and Michael - was overacting so much I wanted to slap that stupid grin off her face. And I've spent the last four years watching pre-school television programmes, so I think that kinda says something right there.
Still, Rowan enjoyed it. And that's the point really. We went for pizza beforehand, and he was pretty well behaved this time - I nearly throttled him on Christmas Eve when we ate at the same resteraunt. We got sweets in the intermission, and Rowie ate an entire box of Smarties to himself! (chocolate coated in a coloured sugar shell...not the best treats really)
Right...I am unbelieveably tired tonight, and I have to go back to work tomorrow. So I'm gonna sign off for the night, watch Sports Night and then do something along the lines of a quick bath before bed. If I leave the PC on I'll end up reading fic till the wee hours....it's about all I have the brain capacity for right now.
