*Gratuitous picture post*
Nov. 26th, 2005 09:46 pmI really wish I'd taken my camera with me last weekend. We went to visit my aunt in Brecon, which is on the border of Mid Wales and about an hour and a half or so's drive from Cardiff. It was a gorgeously bright, if very cold winters morning but as we travelled along the mountain road in the Brecon Beacons we suddenly encountered a wall of fog.
Not just simple fog, either. This was like a massive cloud had suddenly fallen into the mountains and was resting on the valley floor. You could see exactly where it started, and the peaks of the Beacons over the top of it. It was stunning.
Today we decided to head up that way again as there was a craft fair on. That turned out to be a bit disappointing, but it's also been snowing overnight the last few days. So we took Rowan's sled with us too, incase there was enough snow cover on the mountains. Unfortunately there wasn't - but I had my camera with me this time so I took some shots from the car.

It's a very pretty place, regardless of the time of year. The mountains and the trees are multiple shades of brown, green and red.
I wasn't sure the shots would come out, since the car was moving at the time and it was too cold to open the window. But despite a few bad shots with reflections in the glass, or raindrops in focus, I think these ones came out ok.
