*blinks away sore eyes*
Jan. 29th, 2005 10:59 pmYeesh...my brain is melting....
That was hard work. *collapses in a heap*
Been a long day today - rugrat woke up at 5.30 this morning, and decided shortly after that he wanted his breakfast. Both Mam and I got up too, and spent the next few hours dozing in the living room.
Once we'd fully achieved consciousness, and Mam had spoken to my sister, we headed out to visit my nineteen week old neice in hospital up the Valleys. She was taken in yesterday with suspected meningitis, but tests have shown that while she does have the virus, she isn't suffering from the actual illness.
I suspect I will have to investigate more, before I understand that. For right now, I'm just nodding like I know what that means, relieved that she's going to be okay. Somehow, I knew she would be, though it's far from over yet. They're keeping her in for observation till at least tomorrow, maybe longer.
Then we went to visit my brother's kids and their sister, to give them the christmas presents from Mam's step-mother. It's taken us this long 'cause, once again, she's forgotten Jodie exists. I'm never sure if it's just an oversight, or she really is that callous - not like she's never met the child! And we're expected to treat her grandchildren from her previous marriage as family, so she has no excuse.
After that, we raced back to Cardiff for my hair appointment - I have a party to go to next week, organised though work. Decided to get my hair dyed again; I try and put a hint of red in my hair, 'cause I miss being that colour, but my hair only seems to want to retain the brown part of the dye. So the hairdresser added a little of the vibrant red hair dye into it, and it seems to have worked. My hair is now a deep chesnut, which will take a little getting used to. Not worried though, as it'll wash out in a few weeks and I'll be my regular dull mousy brown again.
All that was left to do after that was do some shopping, and look for a multiregional DVD player. Found one, but it was out of stock...
