Work are going to love me tomorrow....
Collected the rugrat from nursery this evening, to be advised of an unfortunate vomiting incident at lunchtime, a nasty case of the runs just a little while before I arrived, and my normally very active son being more inclined to sit on the sofa than run around with his playmates.
They initially put the sickness down to possibly eating his lunch too fast, but as the afternoon went on they figured he must be coming down with a bug that's going around.
So I gotta keep him home tomorrow.
I don't mind - I could do with the day off, and he's more important than a day's wages anyway.
In general he's fine, so what I do tomorrow depends on him. If he's feeling cwtchy, we'll be spending the day on the sofa watching Disney films. If he's fine, and wants to play on his own, I may be popping on the net while I watch him play. We'll see.
Been having a veritable comic-fest this afternoon, thanks to the share money that hit my account this week. I was gonna buy concert tickets, but they sold out, so I treated myself to the remaining volumes of No Man's Land I don't have, along with volume one of Bruce Wayne: Fugitive. And along with my regular comics, I also picked up War Drums today, which had a few issues I don't have, so it's cool. I picked up Birds of Prey: Sensei and Student last week too, which also had a couple of issues I don't have - very much of the yay!
The stories for Batgirl and Robin were good, but oy! The artwork on Robin sucks! I'm at a loss to understand why people have been raving about this guy's previous work, which I believe was on Batgirl; it's sloppy, very ugly and there's no emotions unless it's a very ugly kind of anger. Heck, the anime Teen Titans artwork is a vast improvement on this, IMHO! And they also did a reader's digest of Tim's career as Robin - with glaring inconsistancies! *growls*
The Nightwing Year One is progressing nicely - I see lots of nods to the eighties story I remember so well, which is very reassuring.
Birds of Prey? Cool as always - wish I knew what was up with Babs though!
Teen Titan - awwww! *sniffs* That was beautiful. Stunning art, great story - and my poor Drakey-boy! *sniffs some more*
Right....I'm gonna be summoned to finally do my ironing very shortly, so I'm gonna sign off now. If anyone's seen me around and wondered why I haven't IM'd them yet? Sorry - I just don't want to have to break off from a good conversation when I go tackle that mountain of clothes.
