Ooooookaaaaay! That was wierd!

Pretty much my entire street just got plunged into darkness for about twenty minutes! I wouldn't have been able to see anything at all if I hadn't been using my laptop.

Good thing I'm not scared of the dark, innit! ;-)

EDT: And it just did it again for a minute....I'm worried about my alarm clock and fridge if I go to bed. Plus I have Rowan's school jumpers drying in the machine...

Power cuts are a pet hate of mine. It's the waiting, not knowing what's going on, and just hoping that someone's doing something to fix it. (Water cut-offs are neck-and-neck, I don't know which is worse.) We're not as badly off as some might be - we have torches and candles, and we have a gas hob, so we can light that with matches and still cook and - more importantly - make tea, but even so. I hope yours stays on now.

It did occur to me that I ought to invest in a torch of some kind. I have candles - tealights and special christmas ones - and a good supply of matches since the oven in my gas cooker needs to be lit by a match (do not ask me why for I have no idea!) - but other than that...

Though, thinking about it, having the room lit by tealights for a while would have been kinda pretty!
