So very tired lately....

I got practically no sleep over the weekend - crawling into bed by about five most of the time, and needing to get up a couple of hours later. Largely my own fault, but I just could not make myself go to bed. I hate when I get like that.

I wasn't in the frame of mind to write anything, or really talk to anyone. So I mostly watched tv and read fanfiction. I miss the days when I could write fanfic, or webpages. Something's blocking me lately.

Yesterday I also took the day off to take Rowan to the doctor. I don't think there's anything wrong with him, but the Nursery staff wanted to rule out anything since he's been having accidents several times a day for almost a fortnight. I had no problem with him at all, so I'm wondering if he's either too caught up in what he's doing, or he's unhappy. Hard to say, since he's at the age you can't ask him. All you'll get is what he thinks you want to hear, and what kid wants to go out in the morning to school-type environments five days a week?

I spend a lot of my quiet moments at fanfiction.net, sometimes surfing to other sites when I'm at home (they're all blocked at work). I read some of the comics archives at ff.net - no prizes for guessing which ones - as well as whatever tv shows I'm enjoying the 'ship' in. At the moment that's Stargate SG1 (Sam/Jack), Enterprise (Trip/T'Pol), Sue Thomas: FB-Eye (Sue/Jack) and my newest one, Sports Night.

Now, Sports Night has taken me by surprise. One, I've never been into sport. Two, the regular 'ships just don't seem to interest me. I should, going by past experience, be reading Casey/Dana fic. And possibly Natalie/Jeremy, which is canon, or Natalie/Dan. But what am I reading? Casey/Dan, that's what. And that is very unlike me.

I don't have anything at all against slash fic, or against m/m relationships. Some of the nicest blokes I know are gay. But I tried reading Chakotay/Paris back when I was a Janeway/Chakotay die-hard, and it just didn't interest me. Something about it just didn't read right to me. And there was no way on this earth I was ever gonna read the Bat-clan slash fic *shudders* But I find myself really enjoying Dan/Casey stuff.

So strange....

Even my nightly fix of the show on ABC1 is not stopping me wanting to order the DVD on Amazon, even though it looks like I'll have eBay type hassles since it has to be shipped from the states... I just love the show!

And it's extremely frustrating to suddenly want to watch a little baseball, or hockey or something that isn't soccer (I think I'm channeling Dan there....) and find the only thing on any of the free sports channels is...you guessed it. Soccer. They've even taken the monday night American Football show off Channel 4 that one of the Radio One DJs I listen to was presenting. I never got the chance to see him trying his best to sound like he knew what the hell he was talking about! lol!

Dude, reguardless of your opinion on slash, Dan and Casey have the best chemistry on that show.

And YAY for Sports Night love! Another beautiful show cut down cruelly in its prime.

They absolutely do! *grins* And yes, the show is just awesome! *happy that she'll be able to see it again in just half an hour!*

The downer is that most of the fic archives got deleted, so I keep finding empty links...

*Will be looking into suitable iconage* ;-)
