Ok - most, if not all of you are in the Watchtower with me, so you already know I'm fine. Still can't believe people were worried about me, since I'm over a hundred miles away from London - but still, I'm really touched.
So, today I started work late 'cause we were all going out to the pub for our team meeting today. We had a whole heap of incentive money left over, so we all had food. Good thing too 'cause I am brassic.
The Rummer Taven does a nice mixed grill :-)
Got into the office, heading as I always do for the water fountain before I went to my desk. One of the girls I work with told me about the bombing, so I headed for the side room where the phone is kept. There was a small tv on in there, showing the news.
I have a friend working in the financial district of London, commuting in from just outside, so I was concerned she may have gotten caught on her way in. So I called my Dad - thank goodness he was off today - and got him to check her Livejournal, since I can't anymore. Thankfully she was fine, and trying to check on her local friends.
So the only question remained was what of my own plans for tomorrow? I spoke to Robert this evening, and we agreed that we'd see what happened with the gig, but until then everything was going to go ahead as planned. No way we were gonna let them win - life goes on. We grieve for those we've lost, and we fight back.
You'd think they'd have realised that after September 11th.
Kept checking the band's website, and the gig's been postponed till next friday. I'm not surprised, to be honest. Just pissed off that it was necessary.
So now I have to go get my coach ticket changed - which I've been assured is doable - and change my day off. Boy am I gonna be in a foul mood tomorrow....
And if work don't give me that day off, so help me.....

Date: 2005-07-07 02:19 pm (UTC)They'd pretty much have to be the most beauraucratic asses in the universe to not take recent things into account and be a little understanding. But hey, they MIGHT be.
