I just got included on a group-email from a dear online friend from Louisianna, warning us that she's living right in Gustav's projected path. :-/

I worry about her every year, though this year seems to be the worst ever since she's, effectively, saying goodbye - just in case. She can't evacuate 'cause she's completely broke and she has a big old dog to look after as well as herself.

We've been asked not to email her after the hurricane passes - which is understandable. But...I'm gonna be fretting for quite some time, waiting for her to let us all know she's okay.

{{{hugs}}} That's awful. I hope she (and the poor old dog) come through it safely.

The hurricane could go anywhere once it hits the gulf. That body of water kicks storms into a frenzy and sends them anywhere. It could take a sharp right and come march over Fla and Ga.

However...there should be plenty of places for your friend to go to take shelter that will take the dog too. They learned a lot from Katrina. She'll be ok.
