So we're slowly settling into the new team area. I finally have Outlook back, though strangely it's only showing up on my desktop, not the special Tool Box folder we have. The IT guy who came to check on me this morning was a little puzzled by that, too.

We're low on work as usual, and they've all swanned off on lunch so I'm left trying to figure out what the hell to do for the next hour. My supervisor just popped back, so I clobbered him to print me some stuff off - we'll see how long this lasts me!

But hey - at least I have a pretty good view from the tenth floor! :-) I can see across the trees of Bute Park to Llandaff Cathedral, the clocktower of Cardiff Castle is just slightly off my left shoulder and I can see the Millennium Stadium if I turn to look behind me. And if I lean to my left and look out, I can just about make out Castell Coch in the distance. I'm pretty sure that's the new football stadium I can see behind the clocktower too. I may take some photos later.

I used to sit here about three years ago, when I was on an E-Services team that specialised in Renewals. Not at this specific desk, but very close. I frequently miss those days, as I felt a lot more part of the team back then. Though it's always hard to intergrate into an existing team, and harder still to maintain your position within the team if you choose to go part-time.

Right, time to get on with these last scraps of work. I think I have to write todays productivity off.... Doesn't help that I seem to be coming down with something, as my throat's rather sore. Bleugh.

A view is always a nice thing to have at work, except for when you spend more time looking at it than doing actual work. When I was in old old!job I had a spectacular view from my window, but in new!job I have my cubicle wall to look at and not much else :~|

I was stuck in the middle of a team area last time myself, and we were one floor down so there were still buildings in our way anyway.

Thankfully, the cubicle walls are low so we can still see all around the office. I don't think I could cope if we had those full-height ones.
