My son has a better social life after school than me. But then again, isn't that always the case?

Mondays he has a football class at school, coached by someone on the Cardiff City coaching staff. On Tuesdays he has football at the community centre, same as he has for the last couple of years. Hopefully he'll start to learn some skills on Mondays that he can then put into use on Tuesdays! *grin*

On Wednesdays he's back to gymnastics, now the community centre local to his school has finally reopened after its major refit. It's with the same coach he had before too, which is good. Plus now that the library's on-site, I have somewhere comfy to go wait for him where I'm just down the corridor, instead of having to leave the building. There's a gym upstairs too, and I'm giving serious thought to checking it out.

Thursdays is when he now goes to 'Badgers', the kids part of the St John Ambulance. There he gets to learn a certain amount of first aid, along with all the other life skills you learn in groups like that. Last night he was making chocolate rice krispie cakes, working towards the 'Hungry Badger' badge, where they learn about food, healthy eating and safety in the kitchen. He really enjoyed it, so I'm hoping he sticks with it.

Fridays is a long-standing tradition of 'Movie Night'; pizza and garlic bread (from the Iceland supermarket - I'm not made of money! *grins*) and popcorn, while watching a DVD. Tonight we finished watching the original Star Wars trilogy; he cried when Luke cremated Darth Vader! *laughs* He thought it was a horrid thing to do, so we ended up having a discussion about funerals. He cried when we watched 'Empire Strikes Back' too, when Han Solo got frozen in carbonite. *shakes head* He's so silly, but he's my little silly!
