What happened to my baby?
Aug. 23rd, 2008 11:08 amRowan decided that he was going to go see his Nan on his own this morning.
She's only a couple of blocks away, so this is no big deal, except for the busy main road between her estate and mine. There is, however, an underpass beneath the road (well, really, where else would it be?) that he can use to get across safely.
Now, I've maintained recently that age seven is when he not only has to start helping me out more around the house, but he also starts getting given more responsibility for his own actions. So I reluctantly agreed to let him do this, on the proviso that I came out part of the way myself and watched him safely over the other side.
But jeez....seeing him emerge on the other side, all lanky and confident....where did the last six and a half years go?
And in a week and a half, I start dropping him off at the Junior school building, not the Infants...
