You know how you're never really interested in having a proper conversation with me? Well then why, when you're having a whinge about the policyholder or job you're currently dealing with, do you direct your mutterings at me? There are other people equally close, with whom you actually want to talk.

*sighs*

I haven't been having the best of days today, since even though we got out of the house on time today I still ended up having to spend six quid on a taxi to the school when two buses sailed past us full of high school kids and commuters. And the kids'll almost all be getting off the bus two stops down the road, but that's a little too far to walk Rowan each morning considering we have a bus stop only a minute or two outside our own house.

And then another full bus sailed past me on Albany Rd, on the second leg of my journey to work.

If I had the confidence, this would almost encourage me to bite the bullet and learn to drive....

On the upside, Jo brought me in a brownie today! *grins* Pecan and white chocolate! That cheered me right up.

My turn for the team bake-off is this Monday - anyone have any good, simple cake recipies I could try?

...since I should be getting on with my work. I'm behind yet again.

It was an inspired decision to get my personal email forwarded to my work account - I've been meaning to do it for weeks, and then Thunderbird had difficulty reaching the server one night, so I had to log into the webmail. Et voila!

Coming into work this morning to comments, and getting some more this afternoon, has helped brighten my day *hugs you all* I'll try to remember to respond tonight, when I get online to revise with Jenny some more.

Pamela and Carol; I'd be happy to check out those recipies - diolch yn fawr, fy ffrindiau! And Laylee; I'll check yours out as soon as I'm home and can access LJ properly - thank you so much too!

I forsee much baking in my future this weekend *grins*

Jenny just called to reschedule our revision session half an hour early and, as happens any time anyone calls me, had to go through my pint-sized secretary before she could speak to me.

What followed was a brief conversation about Rowan's mathematical skills;
"I can count up to a hundred and eleven! I can almost count to a thousand! And I know my ten times table, I do!"

*collapses on floor giggling*

My Bramble Meringue Pie is in the oven, cooking.

I'm pretty sure I screwed up the meringue - it was taking forever to 'peak' - and I forgot to sugar the blackberries...I'm hoping the tinned bramley apples I added will compensate for that. I'm pretty sure it's pre-sweetened for crumbles, pies etc.

Plus I also cheated and bought a pre-made pastry base. I don't have the time to learn how to make pastry, right now.

Wish me luck!
