I've come to the conclusion that Rowan's new fish are scared of me. Rainbow especially.
They've been worrying me, as they've been keeping very still and sitting on the gravel at the bottom of their tank. This kind of lethargy normally indicates poor oxygen levels in the water, so I changed the water this morning - just in case the guy at the store was talking out of his behind when he said to let the tank settle for forty-eight hours before putting the fish in.
This hasn't made any real difference, and they're still barely moving. Though Kettle does seem a little more active than Rainbow.
But the real clincher was when I went into the kitchen, where the tank still is at the moment, and noticed Rainbow swimming along fairly merrily. As soon as I approached, he sank right down to the bottom again *facepalms*
I already have an insane cat - do I have to have nutty fish too?
