We have new 'family-members'!
May. 26th, 2007 06:26 pmWe were finally able to get the goldfish I promised Rowan last week. We've had to leave the tank to settle for a couple of days, on the advice of the guy at the petshop, so today was the earliest opportunity.
They're really pretty; instead of going for your average goldfish, Rowan chose to buy some Shubunkin. I'm very pleased with his choices, though one of them unfortunately only has one eye - but nevermind!
I haven't managed to get decent photos of them yet; one looks fairly like the one on the Wiki article, with a little more orange, and its one-eyed companion has a great deal more silver, with practically no orange at all. Rowan's named them Kettle and Rainbow, respectively.
Don't ask!
Spent most of the day looking at beds, and I think I've found the one I want to buy. Can't get it till a week tuesday, and there's fourteen days delivery, so it's gonna be a while before I get a decent nights sleep *sigh* C'est la vie!
We also popped into IKEA - where they have my dream bed, but it costs too much *sigh* - for a spot of lunch, and Rowan went into the creche for forty-five minutes. As we were collecting him, I spotted a familiar face examining the orchids in the Market Hall; Naoko Mori, 'Toshiko Sato' from Torchwood! Who is just as beautiful in real life as she is on TV. I couldn't help squeeing quietly, but Mam wasn't impressed - she's disdainful about anything Doctor Who related. I told Rowan over lunch that I'd seen "A woman who works with Captain Jack", and he was pretty impressed *grins* Then when we'd eaten, we went back downstairs and she was still there! She'd only gone about two meters, and was looking at frying pans. I pointed her out to Rowan, but we were well behaved and didn't bother her.
*grins* I love that this can happen! I stil can't get over it - Cardiff's not somewhere you generally expect to see famous people, yet I've seen six since Easter!
In conclusion? Cardiff rocks!
