It's actually been quite a pleasant day today, really. My mother-in-law is sick, and they didn't want to risk Rowan catching whatever it is, so he stayed home with me. He already had his motorised trainset out from yesterday afternoon, so he spent the morning playing with that. Then after lunch I got him to put it away so I could hoover, and we put together his other, green trainset (we distinguish between them using colour, as the motorised one has blue tracks).
( Rowan's trainset )
He doesn't have a very large concentration span just yet, so he often came to bug me instead of playing with his trainsets. This proved rather a distraction in the morning, as we ended up wrestle-hugging on my bed when I should have been doing housework. We got into a bizarre conversation where he informed me he wants a brother and a sister, and I have until he's seven to produce them. Ten at the latest. *chuckles* I just hope we're not seeing a return to the embarrassing phase he went through about six months ago, telling everyone I was pregnant! I think it was because people started asking him if he had any brothers or sisters - maybe he's seeing his friends with their siblings and wishing he could be the same *shrugs*
In the afternoon, once I'd gotten a fair amount of housework done (a miracle, frankly) and made him a sufficiently complicated train-track, I settled down to check my flists. When Rowan started to get restless again, I suggested we watch High School Musical while we ate tea and I would break out the tin of Celebrations chocolates. This went well, and we watched the movie before I put him to bed. He's only just settled down to sleep though - I think he's too excited about the trip to Cardiff Castle with his class tomorrow.
Ah well, suppose I should go do the various prep I need to get done, ready for tomorrow. Before I do, here's another quick picspam
