Oh man, what am I doing here...

I really don't feel so hot still....Been waking up every morning feeling like death warmed over and, while I slowly get better as the day goes on, it takes a long time. I took some medication about two hours ago and it's not done any good at all...

I feel really sorry for Rowan today too - we got into the school yard today and he was handed an invite for a birthday party, on November 4th. I had to break it to him that he can't go 'cause we're going to be away until the day after...*sighs* I was keeping it a secret from him too. He was devastated that he couldn't go, but he was really brave about it, bless him. He really did the whole 'stiff upper lip' thing, and it nearly broke my heart.

I still haven't told him where we're going, or who we're seeing, but now he knows something is happening... Gah!

Val had better bring that trolley around soon. I promised myself I wouldn't buy anything from her for a while, but I need something to perk me up.

Okay, that cheered me up for a moment...

Periodically through the day, the management team on my department email us the amount of work left to get through before the end of the day. There's this one report, dealing with undisclosed claims and motoring convictions, that is so big it can be hard to keep up with.

Today, we're doing well even on that report. Bernard, one of the seniors, sent out the status email just now and, either side of that particular report, he put \O/ signs.

This is funny to me because, within the due South communities, this particilar "Yay!" is referred to as 'Paul Gross Arms' *chuckles*

Of course the rest of the team all went "WTF??" so Bernie's had to explain. This has led to a brief exchange of emails with variations on full-body stick people - and my colleagues are rather...juvenile *winks*

It's amazing what makes you feel even momentarily better when you're not well...
