Note to self...
Oct. 12th, 2006 08:37 pmDon't watch a PG movie with your kid if you haven't seen it in years...
We just watched Ghostbusters together, and I had entirely forgotten about the amount of swearing in the film. Plus I'm very glad Rowan has no way to recognise the fact Ray Stanz had a wet dream about getting a blow job from a ghost...*shakes head*
In general we both enjoyed the movie - though Rowan got very distressed when they fought the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man! *laughs* He was routing for Mr Stay Puft!
Life's pretty mundane right now, aside from the fact my Grampy is still in the hospital. They think there's something wrong with his prostate (I tried not to laugh at the way both my Grandparents kept calling it his 'prostrate'...) so they're running more tests. Everyone's trying not to wibble at the way they're preparing him for the worst possible scenario, but I guess they have to. I really, really hope it's not that.
What's not helping is that Nan has decided to be all offended at the lack of attention Grampy's received from eldest son and his wife (ie my parents) and is barely talking to them. Thankfully she doesn't seem to be treating me the same way, but maybe that's 'cause of the hassle I have to go through to get to the hospital in the first place. (Sometimes I despise public transport, but I don't have the disposition to drive. I'd be a nervous wreck.)
Or maybe it's 'cause of Rowan. Who knows.
Still - the half-term holiday could not come soon enough, frankly. Even if I do have to spend the first couple of days looking after Mam while she recovers from yet another toe-operation.
