Work's as boring as ever. I'm rather pissed off at our central IT Department right now as they changed the cybernanny settings overnight on wednesday and are now blocking anything with 'dynamic content'. You might be amazed at how much falls under that category; for instance I can now no longer view news articles on My Yahoo - I can see the headlines, but I can't click on the hyperlink to read the story itself. Nor can I look at the course descriptions on the Open University's website, or even the tv listings for Channel Five! In fact, pretty much all the sites I look at, besides fanfiction.net, are now blocked.
Sammi is not a happy bunny, as I now have nothing to look at while I eat during my twenty minute lunch break.
Rowan's settled into school okay, but so far he doesn't seem interested in making new friends. Thankfully there are kids he knows from the nursery there so he's not alone - hopefully he'll open up a little more soon.
Spent yesterday looking for an outfit to wear to my cousin Claire's wedding in six weeks. This is extremely depressing as I hate shopping for non-casual clothes, and it's always an obvious reminder of how fat I've gotten; my black trousers are a size 18, and my new blouse is a size 20! For someone who's only five feet one, this is seriously not good. And the sight of my post-baby stomach in the dressing room mirror....*shudders*
Didn't help that I had to go with Mam and Rowan, which means a lot of stress due to the combination of bored toddler and arthritic maternal unit. I had a headache for a good portion of the day.
I have tuesday off next week, as the electricians are finally calling around to sort out the plugs in my kitchen before the renovation work begins. Hopefully now things'll move a little faster - though knowing my luck they'll want to do it over half-term, when we will be spending the week in Aldershot with Rowan's godparents...
And just for the record - The Upside Down Show on Nick Jnr? Absolute shite, people! Though at least it's a smidge better than The Wiggles...
