I would like to finish writing up the Sports Night story I have been working on in my notepad for the last few weeks. I'm at least three quarters of the way done, but I get tired and my concentration goes.
I would like to work on a little video project I've had in my head for a week or so. I have all the materials stored on my PC, however a perusal of the song lyrics has made me doubt myself slightly... I still want to do this thing, but I may have to slightly change the theme of the video from my original concept.
I would like to watch some more 'Slings & Arrows'. However, I can't do that while working on any of my other projects, or even just checking my email; I tried that last time and I think I missed a few subtle little nuances. The show seems to demand my full attention as much as Sports Night did for the first several viewings.
I would like to be able to do these things, and read some fic, and still get to bed at a reasonable time in the evening.
Yeah, I can see the pigs flying past the windows too...
Saturday was a lot of fun, if sometimes an exercise in frustration, as we had our very first 'Sport Night' group-chat. I wasn't able to be around for all of it since I don't have the discipline to get up at six am on a saturday morning, and I had to go out with Mam and Rowan around lunchtime. But I made several appearances and had a great time, even during the times I was forced to follow the episode being watched by memory, 'cause Rowan had demanded some TV time. It was fantastic to be able to say hi to people I've met over LJ during the last year - and yes, I've been a 'Sports Night' fan for almost a year now! *shock*
Ever since the chat, I've noticed myself suddenly making use of the semi-colon when I'm writing! *amused* I'm not convinced I'm getting it right yet, but I have a grammar guide intended for kids, for when Rowan's older, which is proving informative for me. Seems like I was never taught this stuff myself at school - I certainly don't remember it.
After some discussion with Carol, I've decided it would probably be best to wait off on adding NASN to my NTL cable subscription until next season. Hopefully by then I'll also have gotten to grips with my finances as, while I could afford it right now, it leaves very little in my budget for my actual telephone bill.
I'd like to say an overdue congratulations to Liza and Mike on getting married - I'm really pleased for you, and I can't wait to see the photos! And Pamela - belated happy birthday sweetie! I feel awful at not saying something sooner, to all of you!
I was also very sorry to hear of the passing of Tony Jay - I loved several of the characters he played; Megabyte from 'Reboot' especially, Dr Lipshitz from 'Rugrats' - but also Nigel St John from 'Lois & Clark'! A guy almost a cool as Alfred! *mournful sigh* We have indeed lost a great character actor.
