I have just spent the last three hours working on one report, and my head has gone totally!
I'm basically checking a list of policies where the claims have been settled in the policyholder's favour, to ensure their No Claims Bonus level is correct. If it's not I leave a note for the Underwriters to correct it, and if the policy is cancelled I send out a Proof of Bonus letter myself.
I just did six pages worth for the other brand, and I have five more pages to go of our own policies...
Times like this I wish I drank coffee, 'cause I need something to stimulate my brain. This is good for my productivity scores, but OMG is it boring!
We all went out yesterday afternoon for a 'team outing' to a local pub for a game of skittles *grins* I prefer ten-pin bowling myself, but it was still a laugh. My team - consisting of Luke, Dave and myself - were in second place in the final round and by the time my final turn came we needed two points to draw level with the leading team. So I gritted my teeth, determined to try by best...and scored four! *happy bounce* With that and my narrow win at the bowling alley a few weeks ago (even if there were several elements in my favour that day) I'm very fond of bowling games right now!
Afterwards we played 'Killer Skittles', where we all had three lives and we had to knock a pin down at each turn. I managed to last for quite a while, and was helping pick up the pins at one point.
On the whole I was quite enjoying myself, until we started to struggle for something to do. A game of charades *yawn!* died a death with the first go, so I suggested to the managers that we try a game of 'Celebrities', like in season two of Sports Night. They were up for the idea, but while I was getting people to write celebrities down on paper one of the other women - the one who keeps trying to get me to drink - shanghaied my idea. She turned it into that stupid party game where everyone has a name pinned to them where they can't see it and have to guess who it is. People were having trouble guessing through just yes/no questions, so we began giving clues and it ended up rather like 'Celebrities' anyway. I was pretty upset, but didn't say anything. Really spoilt the night for me though, so I was grateful to be able to head home.
It was really quiet since Mam was babysitting Rowan for me at her place, but I watched another episode of 'Slings & Arrows'. I'm really enjoying that series - Paul Gross is as awesome as ever, and it's interesting to see him acting alongside his wife, who plays theatre-diva Ellen. Geoffrey Tennant's such a different role to Benton Fraser - despite the seeing ghosts thing - that it's really interesting. Plus how can you not love a character who walks out on to the stage during a rehearsal and proudly proclaims "I have fixed the toilet!", plunger held aloft like a sword. *giggles*
Anyway, I better get back to work or I'm not gonna finish this lot before quitting time.
