Alright, so...
Jul. 5th, 2006 10:59 pmI got the letter about my hospital appointment on tuesday - I go in tomorrow at noon. They reckon I'll be discharged the same day, but frankly I have my doubts. Gonna be putting me under general anesthetic, after all - and god knows what time they'll actually get around to dealing with me!
Mam's taken the day off to take me in, and will be looking after Rowan for me tomorrow evening. I'm grateful for her willingness to help, but I really hope she doesn't stick around at the hospital too long - I'd much rather plug myself into my mp3 player while I wait than have to keep up the small talk.
The really sucky thing is that I'm supposed to be going to a works-organised party on friday night. This is a company-wide party, taking place at the Cardiff International Arena (which should give a little indication as to the scale of the thing, since that place hosts concerts, conventions....) and it's New York themed. I was really looking forward to it, and my local-best friend was going to come with me - she met me this afternoon as we'd intended to go shopping for our 'Sex In The City' style outfits (the party even has a dresscode - the guys have to dress like Sinatra) but we just had a girly-chat over some coffee instead.
She then came back home with us for dinner, and I finally had the chance to give her the birthday present I've had waiting for her since April (Oops!) It was a copy of The Cronicles of Narnia, which I didn't get the chance to see at the pictures so I was glad she wanted to watch it straight off. She's only just now gone, so I'm waiting up to check she gets home okay.
Anyway, that's what's going on with me. If they do let me out tomorrow, she's going to come back over and keep an eye on me, while Mam has Rowan at hers. Neither of us is very comfortable with me being alone at home so soon after being put under. If I'm lucid enough I'll be online tomorrow night (net-addict and all that), but I wouldn't expect to see me till friday.
Take care till then everyone!
