Holy shit!

I made a post to Drakey-boy's journal!

I haven't done that in months! Thank you [livejournal.com profile] richardjgrayson for giving me a bunny to write about! *hugs*

Plus I have another Sports Night WiP, which currently seems to be ticking along quite nicely - provided I write it while on the bus...*rolls eyes*

It was nice having Tim and Nigel visit, though there were a few lulls in conversation. Nigel arrived first and we talked for quite a while - initially it was his usual patter about how much he fears me (long story, but we've had a running joke since five minutes after we met that I am a serial killer with a millenial hit-list he's high up on. I just haven't specified which millennium...) but then he started to tell me about all the crap he's been facing at work recently and we had quite a deep conversation about the suckiness of work.

Then Tim arrived, which a nasty bruise on his left eye and a slightly puffy face. Turns out he got 'happy-slapped' on the way home thursday night. For those who have been lucky enough not to have heard about this stupid new craze, it's basically where a gang of thugs beat up on someone, while one of their memebership records it all for posterity on their video phone. It's sick. Thankfully he wasn't too badly hurt, but I think he was still pretty shaken up by the experience. Damn shame he didn't have his trademark long umberella with him, but that might have made things worse.

I made us a stir-fry for dinner - using mostly pre-packaged 'straight to wok' stuff, but I gave Nigel more fuel for his 'serial killer' theory as he watched me carve up some chicken breasts and slices of bacon. Even more so when I used another knife to open a packet and, without thinking, wiped the blade on my jeans! *giggles*

After we ate, we watched the first disc of Sports Night season one - at Nigel's request, I hasten to add! I'd played him Jeremy's interview scene on my mp3 player 'cause he's a fan of the West Wing and I thought he might like Sports Night - plus he'd recognise Sabrina Lloyd from her role in Sliders. He said after that he really enjoyed it, and Tim laughed a few times too so I don't think he was exactly bored whitless himself.

I felt really blue after they left though, and I haven't entirely shaken it off yet. Plus, after reminising with [livejournal.com profile] katyanicholovna about Seattle last night I'm feeling pretty away-sick. Wish there was a way Rowan and I could just up-sticks and start afresh out there - it's not like many people here in Cardiff would miss us, especially since by the end of the year both of my best friends will have moved away themselves. But the more I read about trying to emmigrate, the less likely it seems I'd be able to actually do it.
