gothams3rdrobin: (dan and casey - working)
....Helping to clean out the goldfish tank.

I'm the only one who's ever had goldfish for a pet - plus all those years as
a fishmonger mean I'm not squeamish either *chuckles*

And they say working in car insurance is boring....

After over a fortnight of getting upwards of forty emails a day, I only got about three tonight. Last time this happened it turned out my ISP was playing silly beggars and they were stuck on the server, so I just checked my Webmail - empty inbox! *relief*

I am very, very tired at the moment, and giving serious thought to an early night.

One of the guys on my team finished today - the only guy there that I would consider cute. But on the other hand he's also a miserable, moany asshole who blows hot and cold towards me all the time, and has some personal habits I take issue with. So I'm not overly concerned to see him go. I don't think many other people will be either, as we're all sick of his little temper tantrums every time they get asked to clear the backlog on the phones. Sure, no-one likes the phones, but does that justify banging angrily at your keyboard and muttering under your breath just loud enough to be heard?

Had a visitor this evening, which was mortifying considering the state of the flat. I was actually in the process of tidying up, but there's not much you can do when you have boxes, clothes and linen piled here, there and everywhere. The visitor was a representative from Swalec, the main electrcity supplier here in Wales. British Gas have just put up their rates, despite promising years ago that they wouldn't do that for some time yet, so the other companies are canvasing to try and poach their customers.

Now, I'm not a British Gas customer. My gas supply's currently from this really shitty company called London Energy - they were supplying my electricity too, but I had so much grief when I first moved in that I changed over to Swalec very quickly. I got a letter from my gas supplier last week, telling me that due to the rates increase imposed by British Gas, they would have to increase my direct debits from £15 to £250. Per month. So I got on the phone to them to query this and gave them my meter reading, which resulted in a revised instalment plan of £25 per month. Much more realistic, but still left me feeling very hostile towards them.

So when el blokie from Swalec quoted me about £11 per month, after the rate increase, you can bet your sweet ass I signed up then and there.

You'd hardly know it snowed yesterday - not even by about four pm yesterday afternoon. There's no snow in the inner city areas at all, though there is still some evidence once you get up the hill from the park where Rowan's nursery is located. A couple of blocks on Llanedeyrn Road still have their full coverage, though once you get to my estate it's mostly gone again. Just a few little spots here and there. Frankly, I'm amazed that much is still around.
