I like calling the claims department...
Jan. 23rd, 2006 11:04 amI get to hear Elton John while I'm on hold *chuckles*
This morning was hellish - Rowan has a cut on his finger that I've been keeping an eye on all week. It's showing no sign of healing up on it's own, possibly even getting a little infected, so I called work to let them know I was taking him to the doctor and would be late. They were cool with this and we agreed I'd make the time up at the end of my shift.
Couldn't call the surgery till nine, by which time I'm almost guaranteed to be late for work, but there were no free appointments till after five pm on wednesday! It's a good thing he's not sick, I swear....
So then we had to dash out of the house to get Rowan to nursery - and me to work as quickly as possible. Luckily the buses were on my side today, and I actually arrived at the office with five minutes to spare.
So I'm now working away as best I can, and on hold to the Claims Department while I resolve a bit of a communication fubar. One of these days they're gonna listen to me while I'm on the phone to another department, or another insurer, and wonder why I can't take customer calls like everyone else.... I don't know why it is, but I can cope with these kind of calls without too many problems with my stammer. But get a customer ranting down the phone at me and I'll be a nervous wreck who makes Porky Pig sound articulate!
