The cold has almost gone...
Jan. 6th, 2006 11:09 amBut as a last-ditch attempt to irritate me I've been left with sinus pain...*winces* No matter how much I try to drain them, it still hurts.
My muse is poking me with a story idea or two at the moment, but she's only working on a part-time basis and her shifts don't tend to coincide with mine.
I'm still tinkering with the Robin plotline I have going at the Watchtower - I'm trying really hard to get that right, 'cause I haven't done anything solo on this scale...probably since I got him back in the cape and tights.
The other idea I have is a Sports Night fic, but it's completely AU and I really don't know how I could pull it off. See, I listen to this radio station called Radio One every day, and the breakfast team are absolutely hysterical. I got this flash of an idea, where all the cast of Sports Night were in the roles of the breakfast team; Casey McCall would be Chris Moyles, with Dan Rydell as his sidekick 'Comedy' Dave (who is often funnier than Chris...). This wouldn't entirely work, as Chris is so much more sarcastic
than Casey, but he has been known to go off on rants about bigots in the same way Casey would grumble about Jerry Falwell.
Dana Wittaker would, of course, be the producer Rachel - who actually gets to chew Chris out on air once in a while. Jeremy would be the newsreader Dominic Burn, if only because Dom has a joke-feature called 'Yesterday's Weather'...I mean, c'mon! It's perfect for a weather-nerd like Jeremy. I think that's what really cemented the idea in my head, actually.
On the same vein, Natalie Hurley would be Carrie, who reads the Sport news because it would mean she and Jeremy working closely together (though I have to point out there's nothing going on between the real Dom and Carrie.)
I guess that would mean Kim would have to be Joss, and maybe Elliot would be Aled...but neither one of them would be even a close comparison.
It's cool to have an idea...but it's irritating when you don't know what to do with it. *sigh*
Y'know, I started this email over an hour ago. In the meantime I've done seven peices of work (should have done more than that...) and popped out to the chemist for some sinus remedy after grovelling pitifully at one of my supervisors. I hope it helps....
