*rubs tired eyes*
Nov. 30th, 2005 09:59 amI'm amazed I managed to make it in to work on time this morning....I was up till nearly one talking to one of my best friends. It put paid to all my plans for the evening: iron some clothes wash my hair...had to do it all first thing this morning so I haven't had breakfast yet. I'm now listening for the sound of Val coming around the office with the trolley. I get tired of sausage baps, but I'm usually hungry enough by the time she materialises that I stop caring.
Found out on monday we have another desk swap happening. We're going back up to the ninth floor - where we were just a few months ago. This is getting crazy now.... Came in this morning and found someone'd been using my desk - the headset was miles away from the phone, and my chair was completely AWOL. I know I shouldn't be possessive, but one of the 'perks' of this job is the fact we don't 'hotdesk'. Our workspace is just that, ours. They could at least leave it as they find it *grump*
Yesterday was something of a waste of a day. Rowan and I stayed home so he could go see the doctor about his rash. We ended up seeing the nurse, who couldn't pin down a specific cause but agreed it was nothing serious and to continue with the antihistamines. She gave me another bottle (That'll still
be unopened come the summer, as I have an almost full bottle already, but hey! It's free, kinda.) and some skin cream as he's pretty dry too.
So we dossed around the house watching videos and he was colouring. I could have done some housework, I guess, but I couldn't be bothered.
Gonna be working on late for the rest of the week to make up for the hours I took off yesterday. Plus I'm gonna be spending my evenings frantically cleaning up 'cause my friend's coming over to hang out on saturday. We haven't seen each other since the Christmas lights got turned on, and we've barely seen each other this year at all - plus she has lots of gossip for me *grins* So I shall be getting in the mint ice-cream and the non-alcoholic sparkling grape juice.
I also got a phone call yesterday afternoon to let me know that the council's workmen will be by on monday to get on with that extremely overdue work in my bathroom *relief* I panicked at first as I can't take the day off to supervise them, but my friend has volunteered to house-sit for me. The cable tv and broadband internet isn't a factor. Of course not.... *wink* It's a weight off my mind though, and I'll love her forever. This so needs to be over already!
Right, time to get to work. *starts muttering about Val taking her sweet time....*
