I was sitting on the sofa today, almost noon-ish, messing around on the computer when there was a knock on the door. I had to try and get up without disturbing the rugrat, who'd fallen asleep watching a Thomas the Tank Engine DVD, and was seriously regretting having not yet gotten dressed....
So there was me, in my nightshirt, with unkempt, unwashed hair, answering the door to two blokes from the council's Housing Department!
It seems we're still on the housing list from about three years ago! They'd called by to see if anything had changed so they could update my place on the waiting list, which is based on a points system. I explained that I'm now a single mother, whereas my application was as a family, and gave them the new application form I'd recently filled out ready to send off.
They say they'll let me know in about a fortnight! *bites nails* It's for the area I currently live in, rather than my preferred choice of the district where the rugrat attends nursery - but, like Richard pointed out when I told him over IM, it gets me out of here!
Wow....
