I got amethyst too, but moonstone, which is my favourite gem, wasn't an option. Amethyst is my second favourite - did you know it used to be a precious stone in the same category as diamonds and emeralds, until someone discovered a huge lode and blew the bottom out of the market? Or so I've been told, it might be a lie - so that's okay.

I love moonstone too - I have a moonstone pendant as well that I wore constantly for a long, long time.

I think amethysts lovely enough to be a precious stone, but I'm glad it isn't - makes it more readily available for those of us on low budgets! ;-)
