Radio One have apparently chosen to edit the f-word (can't elaborate while at work...) out of the Pogues' 'Fairytale of New York'. After, what? Twenty years?? All because they think people might be offended!

Whisky Tango Foxtrot???

PC gone mad, people! And I bet you they left in the a-word that follows a breath later....

'Slut' isn't very nice, and 'arse' is a bit rude, but 'faggot' has become a lot more offensive since the song was first released, even though it isn't used there in the pejorative sense it's now acquired. (My mother used quite often to say 'silly faggot', not meaning anything to do with gays at all. Mind you, she's as homophobic as all get-out but, then again, she's 90.)

That's very true *nods* It just seems ridiculous to try and censor a song after twenty years. The Beeb have apparently backpedalled now though, due to the uproar from their listeners.
