I should be getting on with my work, but my brain's ticking over (processing cancellations will do that to you...) and I wanted to get this particular thought dealt with.

My french course finishes at the end of the month, and I'm pretty glad about that. I could do with the rest, even if I haven't exactly been studying the way I'm supposed to. But I want to do some more courses, eventually earning myself a degree. The next ones I'm thinking of doing involve writing, and I've been having difficulty doing that of late. Anything I have managed to get written just hasn't felt right.

So, the point of this entry is as follows; would you guys be willing to help me get into practise again? The idea being that someone gives me a topic to write something short about, with a week to complete it. I'm likely to have to write something outside of my comfort zone on more than one occasion on these courses.

Thoughts? Smelly kippers? ;-)

Since I'm too lazy/thick/scared/broke/stuck in Bicester to learn anything myself, the least I can do is encourage other people - I can give you cues, if you'd like.

I know what you mean - I have those issues too.

Cues would be great - I'm not planning to get this rolling for a couple of months, to get me past my exams and allow a little time to rest.

My pleasure!

As Richard and Rach often say... "Shameless facilitator". :)

Sometimes that can be a good thing!

I have till February to either prepare or talk myself out of this. It's only a twelve week course, and there's one starting in October, but I don't have £145 at the moment. I think getting some practise in will do me good - the Writers Block thing LJ puts on the MyLJ page is what inspired me.

I've looked at that a couple times myself. They've had some fun topics. By Feb. with some practice, you should know whether or not you really want to do it. :)

Good evaluation period.

Sounds like a good idea, hon.

Do you want to control the topic a little? Like, 'this week I want to write something about fandom. Prompt me?' Or do you want it to be completely open?

I think I need to let it be pretty much random. It's not like I can pick the subject I'd be assigned during the course, right?

You make a good point.
