Am currently getting used to using reading glasses again - for the first time in about a decade.
It's well weird; once my eyes adjust to them, everything about a meter or so away from me looks sharper.
My left eye's somewhat weaker than my right - I truly noticed it for the first time during the test yesterday evening - but in general I can see just fine. The glasses are a very mild prescription, mostly to relieve eyestrain from all the time I spend looking at computer screens.
It was funny collecting them; Graham was there again (third time I'd seen him in two days - something I haven't experienced in years) and he went rummaging for my glasses for me, and spotted a prescription for a Mr Barrowman *chuckles* It wasn't John - though he does wear glasses - but you can understand Graham's reaction. This, of course, led to a brief, work-safe, mutual squee over John, and a mention of the season finale.
So, here I am learning to cope with my vision being partially obscured by metal frames. Wheee!

Date: 2007-07-07 07:33 pm (UTC)It's kinda scary how much clearer the TV suddenly is - I could actually read the score-bar on the Twins game I was watching last night!

Date: 2007-07-13 09:39 am (UTC)I reminded myself of you a little yesterday actually - I had them on when I looked in a mirror, and had my hair tied back, and I thought I looked just a little similar to the pictures I've seen of you! *laughs* It was a definite amser/gofod moment.
