*Yawns hugely*

Ugh...why do I do this to myself?
The annual Staff General Meeting for the company I work for is this week - tomorrow in fact. A few weeks ago, one of our Operations Managers asked for volunteers to help make a short video to be shown at the meeting.
I spent a couple of years studying tv production - particularly editing, so I agreed to help edit the thing.
When you work in a call centre, delays are inevitable, so the filming was sporadic at best. And the cameraman gave me the raw footage on a couple of discs - one massive file per disc. My laptop was screaming at me!
I had to wait for him to get around to cutting the footage into more managable chunks for me, and then finally last tuesday we got shoved into a spare room to work on it in peace.
We made pretty good progress, wisely sorting out the smaller scenes first before moving onto the bigger ones. But we were trying to keep the final footage as good quality as possible, which meant the resulting files were so large they wouldn't compile at all. And I also had a hard time as I needed to get them off the hard-drive of my laptop, but they were too big to go onto cds.
Cue a number of evenings messing with internet settings and ethernet cables, eventually resulting in a sunday afternoon trip on the bus to buy an external hard-drive (for which work are compensating me, thankfully).
By Sunday, I was starting to feel the pressure of getting the job done on time, as I knew any further delays would mean we wouldn't be finished by Thursday. So I ended up staying up all night working on those damn files - finally burning them to DVD on my desktop at five in the morning, when my Dad was getting ready to go to work.
I crawled to bed, fully clothed, at six am, to be woken up by my mother at seven, 'cause I had to be in work for eight. And it was gonna be a long shift - eight till six...
One hot shower later, I made it to the office, and did a couple of hours work, slightly spaced out. The Ops Manager then came to see me about the video, and could see I was practically on my nose, so he got me to brief my co-editor on what progress had been made, and sent me home. I had to go in, 'cause they needed the files I'd done, and I had the camera locked in my desk in preparation for some last minute filming that day. But boy was I grateful to be going home.
I slept from one till about five thirty, when Mam woke me for tea. I then got the rugrat to bed and vegged on the sofa till ten pm. And last night, I worked on editing the final filming session, and then retreated to bed again at ten.
I'm still really tired, but I'm feeling much more myself now thankfully.
