Half the people on my team are absolutely wrecked today! *laughs* They went on to the pub after the meal - for a couple. (Couple dozen, by the looks of them all....)

Jane came in, white-faced and grumbling, with big sunglasses on. All she needed to set off the ensemble was a large headscarf! Luke's wandering around the pods, complaining that he must have gotten food poisoning - though everyone knows it's self-inflicted. And my senior, Sarah, has borrowed manager Louise's poncho to fight off the cold flushes. *laughs* Witness my smug look.

The meal went well, once the people I was sat with stopped acting like chavs. I think everyone was a little too wound up, but they calmed down once the food arrived. My table ordered one of the set meals, and the food was gorgeous We had spare ribs, spring rolls (egg rolls in the US, I believe) and - my favourite - prawn toast for starters. This was followed by crispy beef, garlic chicken and, I think, chili pork, along with egg fried rice and beansprouts. I actually managed to use the chopsticks correctly - for, like, the first time ever! - but my hand was killing me halfway through the meal (And the specialist said I don't have arthritis in my hands...yeah right...)

Once we were done I headed to my parents to collect Rowan, and ran into Raphael and Davide, who were on their way to mine to return my DVDs again. So Rowan and I called into their house on the way home, stopping long enough for a cup of tea and one of Coral's freshly baked, fruit-free rock cakes. Very tasty!

Davide and Raphael walked us back home - [livejournal.com profile] thaya_rayal will be amused to hear I slipped on the grassy embankment (It was raining/hailing something fierce yesterday) and got covered from head to backside in mud....*sigh* I let Davide take a couple more DVDs for Maria to watch, but this time out I forbade Raphael from choosing any 'cause he'd been over-exhuberant while playing with Rowan and upset him a few times. He'd had quite a few harsh words from Maria before we left, plus he kept playing with Rowan's toys even though he knew I needed to get him to bed.

He's a good kid, but he was in a bit of a crazy mood last night and was a little out of control.

I finally made a point of watching the Star Wars III DVD Davide brought me last week - I haven't seen II, so I didn't entirely follow it, but to be honest I wasn't all that impressed. My attention was only really caught in the last half an hour or so, with the whole 'how Anakin became Vader' thing and the birth of Luke and Leia.

Oh, and I finally saw the absolutely awful Batman & Robin, courtesy of Davide. *shakes head* How he thinks it's good, even after borrowing my Batman Begins, I do not know....crazy lad.

Batman Begins is a good Batman movie. Batman and Robin is not. That's all there is to it. So says me. ;)

Hell yeah. I knew it was gonna be bad, but I still watched it out of politeness.

Who the heck thought George Clooney could be Bruce? His delivery was terrible! I normally quite like his work...

Hee. What Rach said. As for Star Wars episode II... You didn't miss much. I think there was a cool Yoda fight scene. Beyond that? *shakes head*

Hope you didn't hurt anything on your slippery slide. No fun.

You get the feeling Lucas did 1-3 because he felt he had to? Or he lost his inspiration somewhere along the way?

My neck still hurts a little, but I'm doing okay. *hugs*

Batman and Robin is, quite possibly, the worst movie ever made. That doesn't have Jar Jar Binks in it.

Amen, dude! It was awful watching such normally good actors just...perform crap, basically. I just hope they were paid well for it.

Poor Clooney carried around being "responsible for killing the Batman franchise" for YEARS, man. Even though it was totally Joel Schumaker's fault.

I sooo love Batman Begins, not so much with the Batman and Robin.

BTW in America, usually, spring rolls are the vegetarian version of egg rolls.

Batman Begins rocked! So much!

Ah, so that's the distinction is it? Well, these were definitely egg rolls then, cause they had meat in them. :-) Very tasty too!
