Hope everyone's had a good day!

Well, that's it - it's pretty much over for me now. After all, in this house Christmas pretty much ends when the dinner dishes are cleared away.

It was pretty much a typical Christmas, aside from the Rugrat's jubilation about how many presents he had under the tree *grin* - this is his first 'real' Christmas, as he's been oblivious up till now. This year he's been talking about Father Christmas, and singing songs...it's been fun.

I could tell it wasn't gonna be so great about six pm Christmas Eve, when Mam got home from visiting my nephews and neice, and started snapping at everyone. She tends to go into this 'Martyr' phase where no-one helps her do anything, and we're all selfish, etc. etc...

It's not helped by the fact that Dad sits in his chair and wonders why she's reacting like that. Hello! Try getting off your fat arse and helping her!

I was also starting to get sick; I'd woken up that morning feeling rather rotten, but I'd shrugged it off at first. By ten o'clock I'd realised I was coming down with the bug that's been going through the office, so I begged some remedy from a colleague. That got me through the rest of my shift, and when we finished work at noon I headed out to meet Graham for a coffee.

That was a nice way to spend Christmas Eve - chatting to a good friend about anything and everything, and then we headed into the shops to finish off buying my christmas presents. We took our time, and allowed ourselves the odd snigger at the people rushing around like headless chickens. Then after a bite to eat, we invaded our friend's comic shop and teased the hell out of him for an hour or so. I think the highlight was Graham pawing at the glass cabinet, with a model phaser from the original Star Trek series; he nagged Kris for ages to let him have a play with it, and when he finally got it out Kris toyed with him for ages before finally relenting.

I will also never look at the action figure of Trip Tucker from Enterprise in the same way again....

I went to bed at about quarter to nine, once I'd finished wrapping the presents and writing my cards. Fell asleep almost straight away, but then woke up again at about two. Kept waking up again every hour or so for the rest of the night - more so when the little 'un came to join me. Managed to stay in bed till almost nine in the morning, when Mam came to see if we were ever getting up - I think my instructions to stay in bed till everyone else was up actually sunk in! *laughs*

Like I said before, the little 'un loved his presents - there was no room under the tree for anyone's presents but his! Mam was fussing about how much room they were taking up. She wanted him to put his trainset away before my grandparents and uncle came by for dinner - as if!

Didn't eat much of my dinner, as I was still feeling rotten. The smell of the turkey cooking was making me feel sick, though I did manage to taste everything. After everyone was gone, Mam and the baby went to see her stepmother, and I retreated to bed for a couple of hours.

Still feeling crappy, which is partially my fault since I haven't eaten any tea and therefore can't take any medication until I do. But I don't feel like eating.

So what did I get for Christmas? Well, aside from the usual smellies, I got some incense stuff - which I guess is an interesting variation. I also got a new toilet bag, since my shampoo bottle leaked inside my old, beloved one - which ruined it since it's a henna shampoo and the bag wasn't washable. I also got the Star Wars box set from my grandparents, which is cool, and a new top which I wore today.

Still - Merry Christmas everyone, and a safe, happy New Year!
