Hey look! A fic! Yay me!
*grins, embarrassed* Ok, this little peice of fluff came to me at work, and I had to get it written up before it was gone for good.
I'm not promising it's any good - but I enjoyed writing it!
A Christmas fic
by Gothams3rdRobin
It was a typical december evening; dark, cold and with a high possibility of snow.
Three darkly clad figures were crouched on a rooftop, staring at their intended destination opposite.
"I'm really not sure this is such a good idea." muttered the younger of the two men, wrapping his cloak around him in a vain attempt to retain some warmth.
"Don't be so boring! She'll love this!" the older man grinned at him, seemingly oblivious to the cold.
"But what if someone sees us?"
"Coward."
"Am not!" the young man turned to their female companion, "Tell him! If someone hears us they're gonna look up and wonder what we're doing up here."
She regarded them cooly, refusing to say a word. Her posture spoke volumes however; she was bitterly cold, despite wrapping her own cape around herself, and she really didn't want to go along with the older man's scheme. But, like the younger man, she had found it difficult to say no.
"Oh come on, you pair of Scrooges!" The older man retored, as he headed for their destination, "All we gotta do is get to the balcony without her noticing. It's high up enough that you could have a shouting match and they wouldn't hear you below!"
Grumbling, the younger ones followed. The roof was no problem, but shimmying down the icy cold drainpipe was an experience they hoped not to repeat in the near future.
"She had better have some cocoa in her kitchen...." the young man grumbled. The girl grunted her agreement as she followed him, trying not to gasp at the cold metal.
Finally they reached the balcony. A sneaky peek through the window saw their target hard at work, but not necessarily oblivious to their presence.
The older man gave silent instructions to his companions, and when they were in position, gave the signal.
"We wish you a merry christmas, we wish you a merry christmas, we wish you a merry christmas, and a happy new year!"
The door to the balcony opened, and a surprised face peered out at them as they moved onto the second verse, with which they'd exercised a certain creative license.
"We'd all like a cup of cocoa, we'd all like a cup of cocoa, we'd all like a cup of cocoa, so please let us in!"
The woman laughed, and opened the door wider to allow them access. As they filed past her gratefully, the younger man leaned in and gave her a kiss on the cheek.
"Merry Christmas Babs!"
She grinned at him, "Merry Christmas Tim."
