So...
I'm back, after an long, boring evening of mostly sitting around. When I wasn't being examined or stuck with needles...
It's a good thing I can't be bothered to get embarrassed - after all the antenatal visits I endured I no longer see the point.
I was examined by a Nurse Practitioner, who also took various samples for testing (infection, diabetes etc.) and then had to wait for a Doctor to come by, examine me again and decide if I was to be admitted. I sat and waited for two hours before a male Doctor finally showed up, who unfortunately had a very thick accent so it was kinda hard to have a conversation with him.
In the end we decided he would try and get me on the waiting list for the hospital out in the Vale some time next week, but if not I have to go back in tomorrow and wait around till they can fit me in. The problem there is that they won't be able to let me know either way till about ten am, by which time I'm in work. So I will have to go to work as normal, give my manager a heads-up and request permission to leave my phone on vibrate in my pocket.
I managed about an hour listening to my mp3 player before my ears started to hurt, and I also read some more of my 'Crisis On Infinite Earths' novel - I'm beginning to see why Dad didn't like his copy. I also watched most of the England/Sweden match, just for something to do, since the woman waiting alongside me wanted to see it. She fell asleep for a moment about half an hour in, and missed the first goal! *chuckles*
I got home absolutely starving as I've had nothing to eat since twelve thirty, so I've grilled myself up a small steak and microwaved some Special Fried Rice. Not looking forward to trying to stay nil-by-mouth tomorrow, just in case - I'm way too much of a foody to go without eating! *sighs*
Thank you to everyone who sent good vibes - they're really appreciated!
