It's been a busy, busy couple of months, what with Mel's wedding, the completion of one OU course and the start of another, and everything involved with work and school - when I get on the computer, though, I seem to mostly come up blank and just settle for reading everyone else's posts.
I will do a post about Mel's wedding, before the finer details are lost from my rather shoddy memory, but I'd quite like to have pictures available to share at the same time. That's the problem with being part of the bridal party - you're always in front of the camera, never behind it! *laughs*
Work is in equal measures rubbish and awesomesauce - the awesomeness coming, naturally, from the singing group I'm involved in. I never seem to want to call it a choir, even though that's exactly what we are - odd, that!
I'm waiting to find out if I scraped a pass in my Welsh course - it's very hard to judge. The new course, focusing on how the English language works, is a lot of fun, but having an assignment to work on so early in the course means I've already fallen behind *sigh* Rowan's on half term next week, and I'll be off work to spend time with him, but it's hard to say whether I'll be able to get caught up. I'd feel it a waste of a week - and a sign of bad parenting on my part - if he spends the entire holiday playing on the Wii.
He's just had two weeks of swimming sessions organised by the school, which was great as it helped build his confidence in the water. Even brought home a certificate and proficiency badge - level two! - though that's apparently caused ructions amongst other parents, whose children are already on the swimming scheme and apparently got assessed at a lower level than they are at the extra-curricular sessions *handwave* He's also gotten the part of Guy Fawkes in the upcoming school assembly about the origins of Bonfire Night, which is very cool! Only one line to speak, but there are quite a few kids who need their moment to shine!
Still working on my AU Torchwood series - focusing on 'Kiss Kiss Bang Bang' right now. Not easy, though, as I don't find turning a script into a story very easy. Props to all the TW fic writers who take the episodes and turn them into fic with seeming ease!
Not watching an awful lot on TV right now; mostly House, Chuck, Bones, a little Lie To Me and In Treatment - mostly the Thursday episodes starring Josh Charles. The Sarah-Jane Adventures is back on again now too *hooray!* and I gather The Doctor makes an appearance this season! \O/ I'm so glad they gave the show a couple of seasons to find its feet before they did that, and it's going to be fun! I also started watching Stargate: Universe, but then I missed a couple of episodes and I'm already lost. I was watching some of it last night and there seemed to be all sorts of body-swapping and stuff going on and...IJDK. Also need to not catch up with the episodes of Eastwick that I don't have on my viewing backlog ;-)
Anyway, I think that's the Reader's Digest of what's new with me right now - and even that's fairly lengthy!. If there's anything people would like me to elaborate on, let me know.
