Sometimes Facebook can be fun....
Feb. 13th, 2009 04:43 pmMam updated her profile last night to show her marital status as 'married' (it was blank before), and so Facebook put up the announcement "(My mam) is now married!" One of my Dad's old university friends couldn't resist responding with "Uh...congrats?" - it has been almost thirty-two years, after all! *laughs*
My Dad couldn't resist commenting that it was no-one he knew, so some banter ensued - Mam even joined in briefly. Of course, I had to put my tuppence in, saying that if she ever figures out how to specify to whom she's married - as you can do, if your partner's also got a Facebook account - we'll need to run for the hills! *grin* The university friend then replied to me berating me for making her spit out her mouthfull of tea, so I couldn't resist continuing the banter for a little while this evening.
Mam's gonna go nuts about all the notifications she's gotten in her inbox as a result, but hee! I had fun. The friend couldn't help but comment that I'm most definitely my father's daughter....
In other news, my front door lock has been fixed! *snugs a Will all up - then smooches Mel to make him jealous ;-)* It was so nice to not have to come in through the patio door tonight after we fetched Rowan from school. He's now on half-term, which means a week off work for me! Yay! *relaxes*
I'm still having fun trying to use my laptop in Welsh; I went to download Open Office this evening, and was immediately offered the Welsh version! I swear, I don't go hunting - there's something in my computer's settings that automatically does that. But still, if I'm going to become fluent what better way to do it but to emerse myself in the language as much as possible?
EDT: I knew Mam would have a grump at our antics;
"Whats all this hilarity just because I decided to record the fact that I was married, after all it has been nearly 32 years so it is about time I acknowledge that fact dont you think so."
*rolls eyes* I could almost have written the script.
