Jan. 23rd, 2009 12:01 pmMy new V+ cable box was installed today - which means I can now record things off Cable while I'm out, or watching something else. Plus I can rewind live tv to check something I've missed, but I doubt I'll need to use that.
There was a slight bit of confusion initially, as the work order the engineer had didn't mention moving my old box into my bedroom - which is part of the deal for getting the V+ installed at half the price - but he went ahead with it anyway. The whole thing took just under two hours, during which time the guys from my insurer's salvage firm arrived to remove the last of my damaged furniture, along with the storage crates they lent me for my stuff. So now all that is gone! \O/
Of course, now you can see the bit of the wall where Mam didn't get the wallpapering right and it's started to peel off....*sigh*
And I can watch TV in my room again! It's been years since I've been able to do that!
Rowan's got today off school, as there's a teacher training day. I initially thought this meant I wouldn't have to get up especially early, as I wasn't expecting the guy from Virgin to turn up till gone nine, but he called me with a heads-up at quarter to eight! No fair! *pout* Still, at least Rowan's not due to go to his dance club till eleven tomorrow. Hopefully after that I can get Mam to drive us over to the IKEA in Bristol, as they have a CD storage unit I need that isn't stocked in Cardiff.
Now if I can just get over the cold my supervisor kindly passed on....*sniffles* I started coming down with it on Tuesday night, and told him in no uncertain terms Wednesday morning that he is 'dead to me'. I don't think he watches The Colbert Report though, so it was totally lost on him.... ah well.
