Birthdays and stuff!
Apr. 2nd, 2008 09:51 pmHappy actual-birthday
thaya_rayal! Hope you had a good time!
Been over Mam's house most of the day; she fell over in Bristol yesterday, on her way to a Health & Safety course, of all things! And apparently no-one bothered to help her up, and she had to call some bloke over to help her get up off the pavement *scowls* She spent most of the rest of the day in Bristol A&E, and one of her colleagues had to give her a lift home on his way back from a business trip to Taunton.
Her ankle's pretty swollen - though it's apparently gone down a heck of a lot since yesterday - and she can't put any weight on it, so she's getting around on crutches right now. This means she pretty much can't do anything for herself, so needed me to go over and make her tea and food etc. Good thing I'm on holiday myself this week, huh? Dad's off tomorrow, so he'll be able to look after her himself, but there's a good chance I'll be back on babysitting duty on Friday. Possibly Saturday too. I don't mind so much, since Mam can't exactly help the state she's in. We took High School Musical 2 with us, since she liked the first one and hasn't seen all of the sequel; it had the added bonus of keeping Rowan entertained, and we avoided watching endless home improvement shows and old quiz reruns. At least till Dad got home, anyway.
Not in a particularly good mood this evening, but it's not easy to say why. It's not helping that the Torchwood WiP's I'm following on the comms haven't been updated tonight *makes fists at the authors* Entertain me, damn you!
I'd start in on the chocolate Smurf Mel brought me back from France, but I'm well aware that chocolate doesn't actually make me feel better. It just makes me that little bit less psychotic. Plus it also makes me fat.
