Traffic Light Jelly!
Jan. 13th, 2008 02:51 pmWe're having a lazy day today - Rowan's grandfather is working so he's home today, and we had my mate Graham round for tea on Friday night, so my house is reasonably clean *cheers* Obviously I'm going to have to do some dishes and ironing, but aside from that we're busy doing nothing.
Graham's visit was fun; he was kind enough to endure High School Musical 2 at Rowan's insistance, despite having not seen High School Musical 1. I think getting to stare at Zach Efron and Lucas Grabeel made up for it *chuckles* I may kill him for teaching Rowan the 'pull my finger' thing though...
Rowan's swimming classes are continuing - he enjoyed yesterday morning's session more, though he made me cross by not paying much attention to the teacher and not really doing the activities. Hopefully he'll turn a corner now, as it always takes a couple of weeks for him to settle into a new activity like this.
Dance class is fun to watch, as they do a dance to MIKA's 'Lollipop', and a story-telling dance called 'Angels and Devils' to Bjorks 'Quiet'; Rowan always chooses to be a devil, and it's fun to see them scare the Angels and start dancing like lunatics at the "Starts another big riot" part of the song. *chuckles* I wish I could tape some of the sessions, for posterity. The only downside is that Rowan then has Bjork's song in his head for the rest of the day and starts singing it quietly at random moments.
Went shopping afterwards, as normal, stopping in the cafe for some drinks, where Rowan and I also indulged in some Traffic Light Jelly :-) For anybody who's not aware of what that is, it's red, yellow and green layers of jelly (or jello, whatever :-p) in the same order as the UK traffic lights (well d'uh!) and it's yummy.
I think I may have nearly finished the Torchwood story I've been working on for the last year. Or at least gotten to the end of part one, perhaps. I'm hoping I can finish it up before the new series starts on Wednesday *bounces with extreme impatience*, but we'll see. I owe Carol a Sentinel fic too...*wibbles*
Before I forget yet again ('cause I is loser), thank you very much to the anony-mouse who left me a polar bear on my profile :-) Very, very cute and much appreciated.
