I sat down this morning, while waiting for Rowan to finish getting dressed, and made a list of the housework I needed to get done today. Took up two thirds of a page in my notepad.

What have I done? My laundry. That's pretty much it. *sighs* I'm just so not in the mood to do anything at the moment. I'm tired and I have no energy whatsoever. Even looking at things on the computer has been too much effort, though I've managed to waste the day doing exactly that.

I wouldn't worry all that much, but I promised Rowan's friend Raphael could come visit us one evening next week and knowing my son that'll be Monday.

Rowan has a habit of making friends with people on the bus stop in the mornings, and he gets very attached to certain people. Before he started school it was a woman called Sana, who I think comes from Egypt. Plus there are assorted people who catch the bus around the same time as us who will say hello. Since September it's been Maria and her son Raphael, who's six years older than him but still willing to play. Maria and I often have to keep an eye on them, as they'll start a game and Rowan will suddenly decide the rules aren't to his liking and start to get a little upset - like, for instance, when they're playing tag and Raphael keeps himself just enough out of Rowan's grasp that he can't catch him.

We spent a couple of hours last Monday at Raphael's house - he lives two doors down from my Mam - and Rowan had a great time playing with him while I sat in the kitchen and talked to his mother and a friend of hers. It's not easy as Maria is Portugese and her speech is an interesting mix of rapid portugese and english, but she seems a nice woman and we managed to have a good conversation with the help of her english-speaking friend Coral. We spent a lot of the evening fussing over her cat Nina while we drank tea and ate sandwiches. Plus I got to hold a couple of the kittens, one of whom was the image of Symba, and another was a tortie just like Tammie but without his white underbelly.

Not sure how well we'll do when it's just the two of us in my place though, as bus conversations can be quite stilted.

Oh, before I forget yet again; thank you to Anony Mouse for my pre-nibbled candy corn a few weeks ago, that showed up on my Info page. It made me smile, which was good as I'd been in a very bad mood at the time, and I have a few suspicions who it was.
