*relief*

Ok - just got a call from the hospital and they're putting me on the waiting list. While I'd rather get this over with, at least I'll have time to prepare.

Hope it doesn't mess up my plans for the second week in July though....I have a staff party on the seventh, and then the [livejournal.com profile] jla_watchtower's holding a 'Superhero Convention' which should be a massive laugh - I'll be playing five characters! *headspin*

The good thing? I can now go get some breakfast!

Meh...

It's days like this I worry about my job.

See, I've been with this company for three years now. I started off on
Customer Services, before I got moved to the Renewals department where I
spent a quite content eighteen months. The people I worked with were
friendly and the work wasn't all that dull still.

Then Der Management decided to take all our email addresses off our
correspondence 'cause "research shows our customers are preferring to call
us rather than email." Of course, if we'd had more people to answer the
emails within the turnaround time, that would be less of an issue - but
that's another rant. So, as a result, more people phoned us and the number
of emails coming in dwindled significantly. So much so that the Renewals
E-Services team got disbanded and my team-mates got moved to the
ever-expanding phones teams.

That left them with the dilemma of what to do with little old me, since I
can't take incoming calls with my speech difficulties. So they fed me a line
about how two people were leaving the Customer Service teams and it made
more sense to replace them with one 'experienced staff member' than recruit
two newbies. Cue quite a bit of coughing at this point, but nethertheless I
made the move.

Now, every couple of months or so, there's not enough Customer Service
emails for us to deal with and we end up scrabbling for work. Which is when
I get worried. At the moment we're doing quite a bit of our sister-brand's
report-work for them, since they don't seem to be all that bothered right
now. But even with all that added work, we're scrounging for stuff to do....

Gah, I need out of here. Someone wanna find me a job in Seattle? Please?
