gothams3rdrobin: (dan and casey - working)
Back to the desk I moved from just a fortnight or so ago. Makes you wonder why they bothered moving me in the first place.

We've had a team reshuffle as we've split E-Services into two teams again, instead of one big team. Louise, one of the 'phones supervisors, got the new team manager post, and I'm on her new team. Our supervisor Denzil got the other team manager post for a phones team, so we're getting two new seniors now instead of just the one to replace Aaron.

The good thing about it is that the computer remembers me! *chuckles* Normally when we move we have to re-set all our preferences and stuff, and if there have been too many people signing in to the one machine it loses the ability to remember the current user. This particular unit followed me from floor eight, so I've been using it for most of the last year. *pets it affectionately*

As an added bonus, they got rid of the massive monitor that was on this desk and replaced it with a flatscreen one. I'm really glad of this as the old one gave me headaches and took up way too much room on the desk.

So now I have everything arranged the way I like it again, with my cuddly toys, family photos and pictures of Josh Charles and Paul Gross. *grin* There's one that's of Josh and Peter Krause - from the original promotional photo session I think - where Dan is staring off to one side and Casey's looking down at him, leaning against a staircase. It looks like they could be at a party or something. There's a story there, but it just won't formulate in my mind...*sigh*

Guess I better get to work now....

Rowan 'discovered' his walkman today.

He's had it for almost eighteen months, but the thing about toddlers is that sometimes it takes them a while to understand how something works. And what they can get out of it.

I bought it for him to help us get through a transatlantic flight, and it was certainly useful. But since then it's mostly stayed on top of his chest-of-drawers, untouched.

Lately he's been listening to my mp3 player with me on the bus home. But this morning he started listening to his walkman after breakfast - giving me some very useful peace and quiet to get the morning routine completed - didn't take it off till we got to nursery, and hasn't stopped listening to it all evening.

He's looked so cute, nodding his head in time to his tapes. And the sight of him sat in bed listening to a story tape? Absolutely adorable.

Now I just gotta make sure he learns to use the thing in moderation.

In other news, I'm currently rediscovering my affection for 'Sue Thomas FB-Eye'. Never stopped liking it, but it's now back on at a time when I can watch it. The fact that I now have a three hour run of programmes for me to watch every night - Quantum Leap, Due South, Sue Thomas - is not that good a thing, really. But it goes some way to justifying my upgrading my cable package at Christmas, since that was the reason I wanted to be able to get Hallmark.

It also kinda soothes the pain of not being able to watch Sports Night every night anymore....damn you, ABC1...

The last part of my birthday present to myself arrived in the mail today too - two movies staring Josh Charles, that I ordered via Amazon. I'll probably watch the one I haven't seen yet in about ten minutes, once Sue Thomas is over.
