*sighs in relief*
Mar. 8th, 2006 08:49 pmI finally have the dvd
phoebesmum is lending me!
It's been an absolute nightmare getting hold of it - the idiot postman tried to deliver it at 10.15 on friday, when I was at work. So he left a card with the number of the dispatch office to call and arrange collection - with a waiting time of forty-eight hours - but the damn telephone's constantly engaged. I ended up calling the central Customer Service line, and they agreed to get it sent to my local post office - with yet another forty-eight hours wait! I was about ready to kill someone by monday lunchtime, and for some reason the rather pissy post I emailed in never arrived.
But now, I have it and it's playing on my desktop right now! *grins* Lots and lots of Josh Charles goodness.
The only thing that's irritating me is that, when I put it in the dvd-drive, I found the region coding had reverted back! So I've had to change it to play US discs for the second time, which is frustrating as there's only so many times you can do that and I can't yet afford to replace my tv with one that's NTSC compatible so I can use my multi-regional DVD player.
I had a minor freak out last night when I couldn't access ABC-1 on my cable box. The channel number - which I know off by heart - wouldn't register, and it wasn't coming up on the interactive tv guide either. So I ended up watching 'You've Got Mail' - I forgot how much I love that movie. But before I went to bed I decided to try rebooting the cable box, and lo and behold - channel 161 is back. *sighs*
Lots of silly things on the news today - one of which is the woman from North Wales who was caught putting on her eye-makeup while driving her car. One hand applying the makeup, the other holding a little compact mirror. How she didn't crash, I will never know.
They're also planning to prosecute parents who take their kids out of school during term time for holidays. A good thing too, in my opinion. Sure, it's bloody expensive, but it's more important the kids attend school.
Meh, Josh Charles is being adorable. What more do I need to know right now?
