I'd planned to go to bed after Sports Night last night. Didn't work out that way.

I was very surprised by how yesterday started - my alarm went off at seven, and for some reason by quarter past I was mentally trying to gear myself to getting out of bed. Even though I don't have to until nearly eight.

Rowan was also willing to get up, so we were through the morning routine and out of the house by eight thirty. Which is something we've done maybe a handful of times since the weather turned last autumn. This got Rowan to Nursery by snack-time, and gave me enough time to pop into Sainsbury's Central in town for some breakfast/dinner supplies.

Naturally I was back to normal this morning...

After work yesterday, I got a call from an acquaintance of my mother who had agreed to come check out the washing machine for me. Along with all the other problems I've had over the last year, I've had a slow drip coming from the washing machine's connection to the water mains. Unfortunately after my central heating was upgradedon friday this drip became a fast one and using the machine flooded my kitchen. So this guy came by with his tools, tightened the bolts and hey presto! I have no leaks of any kind in my kitchen.

Lets hope this lasts *knocks on wood*

I'm working an hour extra every day this week, to make up for taking friday off. I'm hoping I'll be able to get into work for nine tomorrow, so I can finish at three as normal. To that end I made a point of getting our clothes ironed and my lunch prepared before I got on the computer this evening. I will also be going to bed as soon as the end-credits roll on Sports Night at ten thirty *determined nod* I am knackered!

One reason I want to finish on time tomorrow is that I need to get back up to the carpet store. I have absolutely no idea how house insurance claims work so, stupid me, I popped up there and noted down the price per square metre of the carpet and vinyl I'm claiming for. I didn't realise you had to actually get a quote! This has meant me not only having to find the time to get back up there (I may finish at three, but I go everywhere by bus - during the peak travelling times - and if I don't pick up Rowan before six I get fined) but also find the measurements for the rooms. *sigh* Why couldn't the damn council've just fixed the fucking leak as soon as it happened...I could have lived without the vinyl flooring in the bathroom if needs be. Now I gotta do all this crap, plus somehow scrape my excess together...

Of course it would also be very nice if my friend could let me know when we can meet up for her 'lunch hour', which just happens to co-incide with my rota'd finish time.
